Come Sit With Me and Solly 🐾

Solly, in full doggles glory – teaching me the art of pausing, one Solly Day at a time.

I’m not sure if you’re feeling this too… but I have grown weary of all the blogs and vlogs that want to teach me something. How to be better. How to do more. How to improve, refine, optimize, evolve.

Sometimes… it’s just too much.

So this blog doesn’t require you to ‘be better’.  You’re already good enough.
This is a blog that simply beckons you to come and sit here with me for a moment.

I’m sharing a very personal practice I call a Solly Day.  Sol, short for Solomon, was my beloved Bichon Frise. A Solly Day is my way of honouring the nervous system after periods of deep giving, creating, and expanding.

I’ve shared about him and this practice in this short, very spontaneous video – I arrive exactly as I am, in my pajamas, speaking from the softness of a Solly Day.

And because no Solly Day is complete without Solly himself, that photo above captures him wearing his legendary doggles.  They were a necessity in his later years and, quite frankly, a treasured source of conversation and laughter in our small town. Truly… the only dog in town rocking doggles with such dignity and flair.

Let his image draw you in.
See if the video will speak to your body.

And as you listen for just a few minutes, I simply invite you to wonder: Where might Solly be calling to you right now? Maybe it’s ten minutes of slowing down…
soaking in the sunshine…
doing Solly-type things…

Join me as I share this gentle practice with warmth, tenderness, and a quiet smile in remembrance of Sol..

With love,

Nancy
