Presence Before Practice

When we talk about healing, we most often leap right to techniques.
Which modality?
Which process?
Which script?

But what if the very first step in helping someone isn’t a step at all – it’s a state of being?

This week, I had an encounter that brought this truth home to me in a powerful way. It was tender, a little heartbreaking and it reminded me why this work matters so much.

I share that story in the short video below, because it’s one that deserves to be felt, not just read about. I hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch and let it land for you.

We live in a culture that has become obsessed with tools: therapeutic tools, self-help tools, productivity tools. And yes, they matter. Tools are what let us build something new.

But a hammer in the hand of someone who cannot connect will still build walls instead of bridges.

This is why in Conscious EFT, we begin not with a tapping script but with nervous system safety.
Not with “fixing,” but with being with.
Not with a brilliant plan, but with presence.

And this matters far beyond the therapy room.

Every one of us is, in some sense, a helping professional. We are parents, partners, friends, neighbors, colleagues. We are all sitting with other human beings every day.

And what most of us long for, whether we name it or not , is not someone with the right answer, but someone who will meet us human to human.

The Invitation

If you want to positively influence a life today, whether it’s your client’s, your friend’s or your child’s,  pause before you reach for the tool.

First, reach for them.

With love,
Nancy
