What Alaska Taught Me About Living Within Capacity

Well, I’m back from Alaska with wonderful memories of vast oceans, glaciers, whales and, yes, coffee and croissants delivered to my stateroom every morning.

But one of the most useful things Alaska offered me happened quietly, on an ordinary Monday morning.

Nothing particularly dramatic. Just my biology communicating – and me noticing how quickly another voice joined the conversation.

That moment left me thinking differently about capacity and what changes when we treat it as living information rather than something to overcome.

I’ve shared the story in this informal audio reflection.

Perhaps you recognize an  experience like mine in your own life.

Your biology communicates that it needs rest, space, support, perhaps less input – and another part of you immediately insists that you should be able to continue.

Might you just gently notice this?  And then perhaps name it?

And what changes when, instead of immediately trying to overcome that signal, I become open to hear what it is communicating?

If you’re new to Conscious EFT and would like to understand more about the biological signals and historical patterns that shape our experience, the free Map of Being Human is a gentle place to begin.

It offers a non-pathologizing framework for understanding why our experiences make sense – and why transformation often begins when we stop fighting ourselves and become curious.
