A Call for Volunteers to Share Experiences…

Newsletter Issue #56 Skywriter Communications Inc.

Six Years Later
a new opportunity – a new call for volunteers

Six years ago, when the OPERATION: Emotional Freedom project was coming together as a feature length film – The Answer, the term PTSD – Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, was still one that needed explaining to many people.

Since then, not only has the military context for that term spread into the popular vernacular, trauma and PTSD are currently getting far more attention from care-givers, therapists and health agencies. Trauma can be devastating to health and wellness in everyone and trauma is around us everywhere.

Any traumatic event can leave dramatic impressions on the individual experiencing the trauma. What that exposure will result in is often determined by the emotional make-up of the individual at the time of the event, plus what, if any, support they receive afterward.

The documentary clearly brought to life how PTSD does not “go away.” Forty plus years after their combat experiences, Bob and Art were just as traumatized, hyper-vigilent, angry and depressed as ever. In fact, for many, PTSD is a progressive condition. Untreated, symptoms increase, not decrease. New triggers add on to old ones creating traps that sufferers can fall into without warning.

The same is true for trauma of all kinds, in all kinds of people.

OPERATION: Emotional Freedom – The Answer continues to be shown to audiences all over the world. This project and its outreach efforts to inform and inspire will carry on indefinitely. But trauma affects other large portions of the population; therefore, a new initiative, and a new documentary and research effort has formed.

I’m pleased to announce that I am a part of a new non-profit, created to support survivors of sexual abuse and those who treat and care for them. The group is named F.R.E.A. – (Finding Relief and Empowerment from Abuse.)

F.R.E.A. is seeking volunteers (survivors of sexual abuse and therapists experienced in working with survivors) to share their experiences via a dedicated website, plus a series of videos and a full-length documentary I will produce.

Free coaching sessions will be offered selected survivors looking to experience the benefits of energy coaching in safe, secure, group and one-on-one settings. Travel and accommodations will be reimbursed for participants.

F.R.E.A. will be launching its own web site and Facebook page very soon.
