Supporting Men – and the Women who love them.

Richard Morden EFTTransitions are inevitable in our lives; whether it’s the transition to becoming a partner, a parent, or dealing with loss in the form of divorce, death of a loved one, or retirement or a decline in health.  The old saying goes, ‘Whenever one door closes, another opens.’  But, I’m here to tell you – it sure can be hell in the hallway!

I believe that ‘the hallway’ is a particular challenge for men.  We have so little training and modelling in how to maneuver the stresses and emotions of change.  Very often, in our isolation, the best we can do is to shut down and just keep on “truckin’”.

The result is that the women who love us are left lonely and disconnected.  And when we see the women we love feeling displeased with us, boy, that’s hard to cope with and so we shut down some more and just keep on keeping on.  It’s a vicious cycle of pain and disconnection.

But what if it doesn’t have to continue like that?

I can testify to this from personal experience.  My childhood included many events that left me feeling rejected by the people I looked to for physical and emotional safety.  I developed patterns of withdrawal and stoicism that I naturally brought into my marriage – and although my wife and I did our best, these patterns created limits to our intimacy.  When my wife passed away from a brain aneurysm in June 2013, my grief was profound and my ability to cope was shattered.

Fortunately, in April 2013, I had learned about EFT through the free online World Tapping Summit.  I heard about how EFT interrupts the stress response and so I located a small group of people and, without any training, we started a tapping circle.  After plugging along in this way for a while, I noticed that I was feeling much better and I became intrigued with how much more might be possible with professional training – and I realized that there was a spark in me about helping others develop the kind of authentic emotional intelligence that I was experiencing.

Taking DISCOVER the POWER of EFT with NeftTI was like getting a GPS for my emotional journey.  I released old family events and discovered what emotional freedom tastes like. And I wanted more! Nancy invited me into the 10-month certification program, HARNESS the POWER of EFT, an integrated program of personal and professional growth.

Through those 10 months, my small group of colleagues and I supported each other and along with Nancy’s mentorship, we dove deep into shifting the events and limiting beliefs that had formed at our very core.

The guidance I received in the Harness program has been crucial in my journey as a professional coach.  In Harness I learned not only how to facilitate energetic shifts but also how to help my clients identify their specific goals and how to navigate the obstacles in their unique hallway so that they find their way to their next open door.

As a Life Transition Coach, I help men and women who are feeling lost and unsure of themselves to develop higher emotional intelligence skills and experience greater emotional freedom.  As a result their relationships improve, their health improves and life becomes more peaceful and satisfying.

My latest focus is the Mens’ Group – a place where a small number of men join together in a spirit of support and encouragement as they negotiate the hallways of their lives.
